Hold on tight and pretend it's a plan!

I think that's my new favourite Doctor Who-ism. Well, second favourite, after "wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey". Well, but then there's "the angels have the phone box". And, well, never mind, I have too many to pick a favourite. But it's one :)

Speaking of Doctor Who-isms, LOVE this:

Not perfect, but perfectly brilliant  ♥
Trockopella. Timelord Rock A Capella. Heh :)

Now then, back to tonight's Doctor Who Christmas Special, “The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe”...

I really really liked it. And, I cried a bit. I love Steven Moffat's episodes. I'm not going to bother with a synopsis, because if you're a Who fan, you've either seen it and don't need one, or, you haven't yet, so no spoilers! I didn't like the monkey painting in the childrens' bedroom though, I thought it was creepy. That's nothing to do with the plot though, just an observation...

Also, I've grown to love Matt Smith's Doctor more and more  ... but I don't feel disloyal to David Tennant's Doctor anymore, because I still love him just as much. It's like having more than one child; I don't love them the same, but I don't love either any more or less :)

"Hold on tight and pretend it's a plan." Words to live by :)

Edible Geekery : The Doctor does have a thing for ginger...

... so how perfect is this?!

My darling dearest sent me this pic that he found online, so I can't share a link to the gingerbread artist, but if I ever do find out who deserves the credit for this brilliant cookie creation I'll come back and add it in!

Christmas Countdown, Allons-y!

It's December! Where's my TARDIS Advent calendar? Why does this item not seem to exist? Ah well, this will have to do:

At least it's TARDIS blue :)

Every Who down in Whoville...

Oh yes! This is brilliant!

The best (perhaps only) Whovian / Seussian Christmas card! (It's on a t-shirt too!)
The front of the card artwork is by Ian Leino check out all his other geeky designs!
Inside the card is this WHO-liday poem by Josiah Bancroft:
Every Doctoring Who down in Whoville
Toasts your survival and the revival of goodwill.
Even Oods and Judoons and Daleks confess
Today is a day to say, Exterminate! Less.

It's the season of hearts, big and deep as the TARDIS,
To make room for any Who, any how, regardless!
For faces and spaces may change with the season,
But peace on Earth is a wish for every dimension.
I sent them to our friends & family this year, & framed one for my wall as well!

You can see it hanging near our Weeping Angel topped Doctor Who Christmas tree:

Who are you supposed to be?

I'm such a proud mama - my 10 year old chose to be The Doctor for Hallowe'en! The 10th Doctor, our favourite. I ordered him a Sonic Screwdriver from ThinkGeek... it's so cool. It makes the sound and lights up, plus it's also a pen that writes with UV ink that shows up under the glow of the screwdriver. I want one for myself!

So here's my Beanstalk, Hallowe'en Night, in his blue suit, Converse, tie and overcoat, ready to trick or treat. He's got his Sonic Screwdriver out - now where is the TARDIS... ?

Of course, nobody knew who he was dressed up as :)

Back in time a bit...

These were taken a week before Hallowe'en, when his Sonic Screwdriver and tie arrived in the mail. Yep, he had longish hair! He had it cut the weekend before Hallowe'en, for authenticity :)

He even took a picture of the 10th Doctor in to the hairdresser.
Such a dedicated little Whovian!

And, back to the present:

My handsome little wannabe Gallifreyan, back home after trick or treating - and next to him, his reference photo. Pretty close! He didn't want to take his costume off, I kid you not, he wanted to sleep in it!  I promised him he could wear it to school. Technically you're not allowed to wear costumes to school - but these ARE real clothes ... heh heh.

Next year the 11th Doctor perhaps?
Or maybe Captain Jack Harkness... !

Edible Geekery : It's a TARDIS cake!

The coolest TARDIS cake ever. And it's bigger on the inside!

I don't think I could bring myself to cut into this masterpiece... if it was MY birthday cake I'd be too gobsmacked to eat it anyways :) This brilliant baked police box was made by Do it myself! See more amazingness, including interior and construction pics HERE.
